I brought my 2018 Nissan Armada in for an oil change and inspection for a voltage fluctuation issue. They couldn’t diagnose it after I told them all the symptoms. Fortunately I was able to fix myself with a $40 part. When I got home I discovered my oil cap was missing entirely. I had already driven approximately 100 miles without it. When I contacted the shop about it, I was dismissed with an explanation that it was just “vapor release” and probably fine. No apology, no accountability. What made it worse- they replaced my original cap with a cheap MasterPro aftermarket cap without telling me or getting my approval. They knew the cap was an issue and tried to cover it up with a $5 part instead of being upfront with me. They didn’t offer to do my oil again to make sure it’s safe. Driving 100 miles with an open valve cover exposes the engine to debris contamination and unfiltered air through the crankcase. This is a serious mistake. The dismissive response and the quiet aftermarket substitution without disclosure are what really sealed it for me. I will not be returning. I’d encourage anyone bringing a vehicle here to do a thorough walkaround and check your engine bay before leaving the lot.
